Money Origami Sampan Step 1: Start with a US dollar bill George Washington side up.
Fold dollar bill in half by bringing the top half down to meet the bottom half.
Money Origami Sampan Step 2: Fold up the bottom edge (top layer only) to meet the top edge.
Money Origami Sampan Step 3: Make a diagonal fold on the right end.
Money Origami Sampan Step 4: Make one more diagonal fold.
Money Origami Sampan Step 5: Repeat Steps 3 and 4 on the left end.
Money Origami Sampan Step 6: Flip dollar bill over.
Money Origami Sampan Step 7: Repeat Steps 2 to 5 on this side. When completed, your dollar bill will now look like this.
Money Origami Sampan Step 8: Rotate dollar bill 90 degrees clockwise.
Money Origami Sampan Step 9: This is an interesting step.
We're going to turn the dollar bill inside out.
Hold the folds with your thumb and index fingers as you turn the dollar bill inside out.
Money Origami Sampan Step 10: Repeat Step 9 for the other end.
Money Origami Sampan Step 11: Flip dollar bill over.
Crease along the edge and straighten the sides of the boat.
And your money origami sampan is complete!

Did you know that during the American Revolutionary War, George Washington planned a surprise attack and crossed the icy Delaware River in Durham boats?
Durham boats are also wooden, flat-bottomed boats but they are probably larger than the sampan and were used to transport soldiers and heavy loads.
